The Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare of the Social Development Complex and Rospatent have agreed to jointly support medical startups in the field of patent protection..
The corresponding cooperation agreement was signed by Vyacheslav Shulenin, Director General of the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Health Care, and Grigory Ivliev, Head of Rospatent.
«Russian developers and manufacturers are sometimes frivolous about patenting. It is worth remembering that while there is no patent, there is no object of intellectual property. A patent is, first of all, an economic asset, it is an opportunity to make money on the alienation of exclusive rights, on licenses, on the production of goods using a patented technology. Thanks to the signed agreement, it will be easier for medical startups to patent their inventions. Our experts are ready to provide the necessary assistance to the nascent business, to advise and help with the filing of an application », - said the head of Rospatent Grigory Ivliev.
The new agreement will provide a comprehensive process for granting protection to intellectual property and will make it possible to record Moscow's contribution to the creation of a specific invention and its further integration into the healthcare system.
«Our cooperation with Rospatent will allow the developers of innovative medical projects to dispel the myth about the difficulty of obtaining patents and their further commercialization. The patenting process itself should not scare doctors and scientists, quite the opposite, it is an opportunity to protect their intellectual rights to the developed solution. And we will be ready to help in this, attracting the best specialists, and taking, among other things, part of the costs for ourselves», - commented Vyacheslav Shulenin, Director General of the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare.
Recall that the Moscow Center for Innovation in Healthcare, together with “Medsi”, launched the first acceleration program in Russia, within the framework of which startups will be able to launch pilot projects based on Moscow medical institutions. The winners will receive up to 2 million rubles for piloting the project. You can apply on the website: https://medtech.moscow/accelerator. Source: medtech.moscow
